Careers at Precision Solar
A Place to Build Skills, Confidence, and Long-Term Momentum
Most people don’t leave college knowing exactly what they want to do. What they do know is that they want to:
-
Build real skills
-
Be rewarded for performance
-
Work toward something that doesn’t feel like a dead end
A career at Precision Solar is designed for people who want clarity, growth, and ownership over their trajectory — even if they’re still figuring out the long-term picture.
What We Do — And How This Role Fits
Precision Solar helps homeowners make informed decisions about solar, batteries, and long-term energy planning.
As a Solar Energy Consultant, your role isn’t to pressure or persuade. It’s to:
-
Educate homeowners
-
Ask smart questions
-
Explain trade-offs clearly
-
Help people decide whether solar actually makes sense for their home
This role rewards people who are curious, disciplined, and comfortable taking responsibility for their results.
How the Role Works
You’ll meet with homeowners who have already expressed interest in solar.
Your focus is on:
- Understanding their home and energy usage
- Explaining how solar and utilities work
- Walking through options honestly
- Helping homeowners reach a confident decision
As experience grows, consultants also develop the skills to generate their own opportunities through
referrals and personal networks — not through door-to-door sales.
Growth Is Structured — Not Promised

Compensation & Performance
This role is performance-based, with compensation that grows as responsibility and results increase — rather than being capped by tenure.
Top performers build strong, repeatable income by developing skill, consistency, and trust with homeowners.
We’re transparent about expectations and realistic about the work involved.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
While no two weeks are exactly the same, most consultants spend their time:
- Meeting with homeowners
- Preparing for consultations
- Following up thoughtfully
- Continuing product and skills training
This is a role for people who value structure, autonomy, and accountability.
Who Thrives Here
This role tends to be a good fit for people who:
- Are early in their career and want direction without being boxed in
- Are coachable and self-motivated
- Want their effort to directly influence their income
- Care about doing things the right way
It’s not a fit for people looking for shortcuts or guaranteed outcomes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need solar experience?
No prior solar experience required. We provide full training that covers everything from how solar systems work to how to walk a homeowner through their options. What matters more is your drive, your ability to connect with people, and a willingness to learn. If you have a background in sales, customer service, or anything where communication was key — that’s a great foundation, but it’s not a requirement either.
Is this door-to-door sales?
No. You’ll be meeting with homeowners who have already expressed interest in solar — not knocking on cold doors. As you grow in the role, you’ll also build your own pipeline through referrals and your personal network. The focus is always on having genuine conversations with people who are already open to learning more.
Is there real advancement, or just titles?
The advancement is real — and it’s structured. There’s a clear path from Solar Energy Consultant to Senior Consultant, Team Lead, and District Manager, each with distinct responsibilities and capabilities you’re expected to build. Our current leadership team came up through these same stages. Titles here reflect what you’ve earned, not how long you’ve been around.
What if I’m not sure what I want long-term?
That’s actually pretty common for the people who do well here. You don’t need a five-year plan to get started — you need to be coachable, motivated, and willing to put in the work. This role gives you real skills (communication, accountability, understanding complex financial decisions) that transfer across a lot of paths. Many people join figuring things out and leave with a much clearer sense of what they’re capable of.
